Eric Avalos
Designer Epoxy Artisan

I have been interested in art design and interior decoration using designs since a very young age. I got into drawing and painting colorful designs with acrylic. I see the world through the lens of an artist and apply that to my epoxy designs. I worked at Texas Instruments for almost 17 years in Dallas, Texas, and during the pandemic I worked from home. My daughter was 2 at the time, and I got to spend that entire time with her.

It was during that time that I realized how much time we spend away from our family and kids. I came across an epoxy artist, Mitch, and Mike Quist, who started an epoxy business redoing countertops, floors, and shower walls. I saw on their YouTube channel a video of them pouring a beautiful exotic marble kitchen island countertop, and they embedded LED lights.

It was at that moment that everything clicked and all the moments in my life led me to this. I turned to my wife and said I'M GONNA TURN THAT INTO A BUSINESS! Knowing zero about epoxy, I planned to show up at their place of business and offer to work for them for free. I'm going to learn the ins and outs of epoxy. Luckily, I didn't have to do that. I was able to attend paid training with the same guy from the video, Mitch Quist from Stone Coat Countertops. I was led to Rhonda from RK3, who had taught me lots about this business and working with epoxy. That's where my epoxy journey began.
